The Los Osos Community Services District invites all interested persons to attend Public Hearings on September 2, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room, located at 2122 9th St. Suite 106, Los Osos, California, relative to the following:

CREATION OF A BOARD OF DIRECTORS DISTRICT-BASED ELECTORAL SYSTEM PURSUANT TO ELECTIONS CODE SECTION 10010

Public Hearings to receive community input on communities of interest, maps, and election sequencing for the formation of five Board of Directors districts for elections commencing with the General Election in November 2022.

The Board of Directors will discuss, consider, and take community input on the composition of potential Board of Directors election district boundaries, and such other matters as may be related to the formation of Board of Directors districts. Following the public hearings, draft maps of potential Board of Directors election district boundaries will be published, and additional public hearings scheduled. Copies of the Staff Reports and any support materials will be available for public inspection in the District Office, 2122 9th Street Suite 110, Los Osos, California, or by visiting the District website at www.losososcsd.org. If you challenge the proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Board of Directors at, or prior to, the public hearing.

The Los Osos CSD wants to remind our water customers that the Customer Web Portal is available for those with internet access.

Customers that are interested in using this service are able to:

• Pay your water bill online
• View or print your current or past bills
• View usage history
• View financial history
• Manage multiple accounts
• Manage billing address
• Email customer service
• Terminate service (No Weekends or Holidays)

Please have a current bill on hand to make sure you use the correct information.  Your account number is on your bill.  Go to the ONLINE WEB PORTAL BY CLICKING HERE.   Click on Register in the upper right-hand corner and set up your account.

“In July 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom added nine counties including San Luis Obispo to the regional drought state of emergency.  He called on Californians to voluntarily reduce their water use by 15%.“

The Los Osos Community Services District Board of Directors declared a Stage III Emergency of our Water Shortage Contingency Plan in April & May 2015.  Actions required of our water customers are reducing water usage to 50 gallons per person per day.  Customers are expected to remain below this allocation for total water use.

Prohibitions for Stage II Emergency declaration include:

• Outdoor irrigation is restricted to twice a week between the hours of dusk and dawn. 
• No water shall be used for cleaning of hard surfaces like driveways, patios, sidewalks or other hardscape.
• Washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, boats, and other types of mobile equipment not occurring upon the immediate premises of a commercial car wash shall be prohibited unless customers have an automatic shut-off hose nozzle and do not allow water to run off their property.

The Los Osos Community Services District Board of Directors are looking for two qualified individuals to fill vacancies on the Utilities Advisory Committee. If you have experience in the water and/or drainage field and want to join a dynamic committee which is working on important issues facing our community, please consider submitting an application for consideration by the Board.

LOCSD is also continuing with their regularly scheduled Board, Utilities Advisory Committee, Finance Advisory Committee, Emergency Services Advisory Committee and Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meetings. 

It is anticipated that starting in August, committee and Board meetings will be held in the LOCSD Board room located at 2122 9th Street, Suite 106. Information for each meeting and how to get connected will be available on the Agenda for each meeting. Agendas can be found on the LOCSD Website (losososcsd.org) which is posted a minimum of 72 hours before the meeting time.
