Do you have one night a month available to be in attendance at the Finance Advisory Committee Meeting? Then becoming a member of the Finance Advisory Committee might be for you. 

BE ADVISED THAT the Los Osos Community Services District Board of Directors will consider the appointment of two qualified individual for two (2) replacement Finance Advisory Committee Members to fill a vacancy on the Finance Advisory Committee.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Directors of the Los Osos Community Services District will be conducting public hearings on July 6, 2023, at the above address, for the purpose of considering the collection of annual charges, special taxes, and assessments on 2023/2024 property tax bills.  The hearings will only consider those charges, special taxes, and assessments that were previously established.  No new assessments or taxes are being proposed.  The following is a summary of the charges, assessments and special taxes that the District will be considering to collect on property tax bills.

Description & Amount

Fire Special Tax  - $19.60 per unit of benefit per year

Drainage Special Tax  - $16.00 per parcel per year

Bayridge Estates Service Charge  - $68.02 per parcel per year

Vista de Oro Service Charge - $68.02 per parcel per year

Wastewater Assessment District #1 Assessments - $201.52 per typical single-family residence per year (1)

Delinquent Water Charges - Property specific; report available after June 16, 2022. 

Tax Rolls for each item will be available online at losososcsd.org and at the District Office at 2122 9th Street, Suite #110, Los Osos, CA 93402 on June 30, 2023.

California is experiencing a climate crisis: record-breaking temperatures, longer fire seasons, extreme droughts, and rising sea levels. These extreme weather events are partly caused by too much greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, so named because they trap the sun’s heat and warm the planet.

When organic materials such as food and yard debris end up in the landfill, they decompose anaerobically (without oxygen) and produce greenhouse gases. Composting organic materials significantly reduces greenhouse gas production. Furthermore, when finished compost is applied on land, greenhouse gases are pulled from the atmosphere and into the soil. By composting organic materials and recovering edible food for hungry people, we can all do our part to slow climate change.

In San Luis Obispo County, food scraps and yard debris are collected in green carts which are then sent to composting facilities. Each jurisdiction has a contract with one of the following franchised hauling companies to provide collection service for garbage, recycling, and organic materials (food scraps and plant trimmings). LOCSD is also continuing with their regularly scheduled Board, Utilities Advisory Committee, Finance Advisory Committee, Emergency Services Advisory Committee and Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meetings.
