Scam Alert Warning

Red "Scam Alert" sign with a hand and exclamation mark symbol.

A pair of San Luis Obispo County agencies have issued warnings to residents to be on the lookout for individuals impersonating Community Services District (CSD) employees and falsely claiming that the district’s water is contaminated.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take the following precautions:

  • Do not provide personal information such as your Social Security number, bank account details, or payment information to anyone who calls or visits your home claiming to be from the District.
  • Verify their identity. District employees will carry proper identification and will not request sensitive personal or financial information.

If you encounter such an incident or find it suspicious:

  1. Do not engage with the individual.
  2. Report the incident immediately to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office at (805) 528-6083.

Your safety and security are our top priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Los Osos Community Services District directly at 805-528-9370.
